Flower Garden Banks Liveaboard — M/V Fling | October 16–18, 2026

Texas has a coral reef, and most divers never see it. The Flower Garden Banks sit about 100 miles off the coast in the Gulf of Mexico — a national marine sanctuary built on salt domes rising out of deep water, with coral coverage healthier than most of the Caribbean. Visibility runs deep and blue. Manta rays, whale sharks, hammerheads, loggerhead turtles, and schooling jacks are all on the table. This is the best diving in Texas, and it's a weekend away.

Join Ascubadiving aboard the M/V Fling for three days and two nights of Gulf diving. We board Friday evening in Freeport and run overnight to the banks, so you wake up Saturday already on site. Saturday you'll dive the West and East Flower Garden Banks plus an offshore oil platform — a structure dive unlike anything else, with the rig legs dropping away into blue water and marine life stacked from top to bottom. Sunday morning we dive Stetson Bank, where the rock outcroppings hold sponges, rays, and reliably big fish, before running back to port for a late afternoon return.

Your trip includes seven dives, all meals prepared onboard, AL80 tanks, and nitrox fills. The Fling is a purpose-built dive boat with bunk accommodations, hot showers, a full galley, and a crew who has run these waters for years.

What you need to know: Advanced Open Water certification is strongly recommended — the platform dive and the banks involve depth and current. Nitrox certification is required to use the nitrox fills. Bring all your personal gear including exposure protection, weights, primary and backup lights, a tank light, and an SMB. The Gulf crossing is open water, so bring seasickness medication and take it before you need it. Crew gratuities are not included.

Bunk options: Standard Upper, Standard Lower, and Double Bunk berths are available at different rates. Payment is due at booking to reserve your bunk — visit texascaribbean.com to select your bunk, submit payment, and sign your waivers, then let the shop know you're in so we can add you to the group roster.

Space is limited to our reserved block. Questions about gear, certification requirements, or whether this trip is right for you? Call the shop at 817-406-4080 or stop by — we'll talk it through.
