Truk Lagoon, Micronesia – The Wreck Diving Capital of the World

Embark on the ultimate historical dive expedition – explore the massive underwater museum of the Japanese Imperial Navy's ghost fleet sunk in World War II.

The Destination: Chuuk Lagoon

In February 1944, the Allied military operation "Operation Hailstone" launched a surprise attack on the Japanese naval base in Truk (Chuuk) Lagoon, sinking over 60 warships, merchant vessels, and aircraft. Today, this massive, sheltered lagoon is widely recognized as the greatest wreck diving destination in the world, with ships resting in clear, warm waters.

Signature Dive Highlights

  • Fujikawa Maru: Famous for its cargo hold containing intact Zero fighter plane cockpits and parts, as well as a beautiful bow gun covered in soft corals.
  • Shinkoku Maru: A massive tanker wreck that has become a spectacular artificial reef. Its deck is completely covered in soft corals, anemones, and clouds of anthias, making it a favorite for night diving.
  • San Francisco Maru: Known as the "Million Dollar Wreck." Resting deeper (160-200 feet), its deck holds three intact Japanese light tanks, trucks, airplane engines, and boxes of ammunition.

The Pacific Master Liveaboard

The Truk Master (part of the Master Liveaboards fleet) is a heavy steel vessel custom-outfitted for wreck exploration. It is fully equipped to support technical divers, featuring double tank setups, deco gas blends, and support for rebreathers. Recreational divers will enjoy the spacious dive deck, convenient camera tables, and comfortable, air-conditioned cabins.
