ICELAND SEPT. 2025

Scuba diving in Iceland is an extraordinary experience, offering a unique opportunity to explore the underwater world in one of the most breathtaking environments on Earth. While Iceland might not be the first destination that comes to mind for scuba diving due to its cold waters, it offers some truly remarkable dive sites with crystal-clear visibility and stunning geological formations.

One of the most popular diving spots is Silfra, located in Thingvellir National Park. Silfra is a fissure between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, offering divers the chance to swim between two continents. The water here is incredibly clear, providing visibility of over 100 meters (328 feet). Diving in Silfra is like entering a different world, surrounded by vibrant colors and dramatic rock formations.

Another notable dive site is the Reykjanes Peninsula, home to sites like Kleifarvatn Lake and the underwater chimney known as the "Strytan." The Strytan is a geothermal vent that releases hot water, creating a unique ecosystem teeming with marine life and Strýtan is the world´s only geothermal chimney that recreational divers can reach.
